What to Expect
Your session from start to finish, so there are no surprises.
Booking & Planning
Once you reach out through the contact form, I'll respond within 24 hours. We'll chat about what you're looking for, pick a date, and decide on a location. I'll send over an invoice for the retainer. Your date isn't secured until the retainer is paid.
Shortly before your session, I'll send a prep guide with outfit suggestions, what to bring, and location details.
The Session
When we meet, you don't need to know how to pose. I'll guide you through everything—where to stand, how to hold hands, when to laugh. My goal is for you to feel like yourself, so we'll chat, joke, and take breaks if they are needed.
Sessions typically last about an hour, sometimes running up to 90 minutes, and I almost always schedule for the golden hour (the hour before sunset) or early mornings for the most flattering light.
Editing & Your Gallery
Within 2-3 weeks (up to 6 weeks for large events), you'll receive a link to your private online gallery. Every image is hand-edited for color, exposure, and clarity.
You'll get a curated selection of the best images from your session. No silly blinks, no mid-bite shots. You can download high-resolution files.

Quick Tips Before Your Session
Outfits
Coordinate, don't match. Solid colors and earth tones photograph best. Avoid busy patterns and neon — they can cast color onto skin. Layers and textures (knits, linen, denim) add depth.
Kids & Pets
Bring snacks and something to keep them entertained between shots. If your dog is coming, bring treats and a helper who can hold them between poses. Some pets are huge stars; others need a minute to warm up. Both are fine.
Weather
Portland weather is a coin flip. If it looks like rain, we just adjust. Umbrellas and rain boots make adorable photos, and overcast days actually give gorgeous, even light. Extreme conditions (downpours, wind storms) are rescheduled at no cost.
Props
A few personal items can make photos feel uniquely yours — baby's favorite blanket, kid's soccer ball, grandma's quilt. Keep it to 1-2 items so they don't steal the show from the real subject: you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose my own location?
Absolutely. I've got a list of tried-and-true spots, but if you have somewhere meaningful—a favorite park, a family property, your neighborhood—let me know and we'll make it work.
What if it rains on my session day?
I'll check the forecast the day before and we'll decide together. Many sessions actually work great in light rain, but if conditions are extreme, we reschedule at no cost. Your retainer transfers to the new date.
How soon will I get my photos?
Most sessions are delivered within 2-3 weeks. Large events can take up to 6 weeks. You'll get a sneak peek on social media within 48 hours.
Can I order prints through you?
Not yet! Right now your gallery is digital-only with full-resolution photos you can download and print wherever you like. I'm hoping to add print ordering in the near future.
Do you offer payment plans?
Weddings, elopements and other large events can be split into monthly payments. Just ask when booking.
